A solvent recovery machine is mechanically simple with few moving parts. With correct maintenance it runs for years without issues.
After Every Cycle: Check the Residue Bag
Check the Teflon sludge bag every 3–5 cycles and replace when full. Overflow makes tank cleaning difficult.
Weekly: Inspect Tank Interior
Open the lid weekly and inspect the interior. Light residue is normal; dark layered build-up requires cleaning with approved cleaning solvent — never water or detergent.
Monthly: Clean the Condenser
Clean air-cooled condenser fins with compressed air monthly. Dust accumulation reduces cooling efficiency.
💡 Condenser fouling is the most common cause of performance drop.
Annual: Seals and Connections
Inspect lid seals and safety valves annually. Hardened seals cause vapour leaks. Replacement is inexpensive; ignoring it is not.
General Rule
Solvent accumulation on exterior surfaces creates fire risk. Wipe down with a dry cloth after each use.
